Craig Marchbanks is a Knowledge Leader at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in the Bank Supervision and Regulation Department. Currently, Craig is a member of the Large Institution Supervision Coordinating Committee (LISCC) Liquidity Pillar III team where leads and participates in LISCC horizontal liquidity risk reviews. Previously, Craig served as the co-lead for the System’s Capital Markets Specialt Training (CMST) program. Craig has also led work streams for the Federal Reserve’s Supervisory Capital Assessment Program (SCAP); the Large and Foreign Banking Organizations (LFBO) Resolution Plan Review; and LFBO Horizontal Liquidity Reviews.
Craig joined the Chicago Fed in 2008 and has held a variety of positions including: VP of Corporate Social Responsibility; and AVP of the Credit Risk, Policy Analysis, and Market & Liquidity Risk teams. Prior to joining the Chicago Fed, Craig was a Senior Supervisory Financial Analyst at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC. While in DC, he led the Federal Reserve System’s Market and Liquidity Risk Coordinators Group and was also a member of the Basel Committee on Bank Supervision’s “Working Group on Liquidity” during the 2007-08 financial crisis which produced the Principles for Sound Liquidity Risk Management and Supervision in September 2008; and Liquidity Risk: Management and Supervisory Challenges in February 2008. Prior to joining the Board, Craig worked in the financial services industry where he focused on asset liability management, liquidity risk management and fixed income trading while working in Bermuda and the Washington, DC area.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Craig earned his BA from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL where he majored in Business and Politics and his MBA in Finance from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Craig and his wife Owinda live in Chicago, and they have three sons Richard, Matthew, and Joshua.
