Tanya Williams, CFA, an experienced investment management executive, excels at helping institutional and high net worth clients achieve their long-term investment goals. She relies on a thoughtful and disciplined approach to ensure competitive outcomes. Her experience includes traditional and alternative investment research, portfolio management, product management and client engagement. Her breadth of experience supports interdisciplinary critical thinking; giving her the tools to adapt to a wide range of events.
As an industry leader, Tanya’s reputation as a smart, agile collaborator is fueled by a core belief: results improve when diverse experiences, opinions, and skills intersect. When building investment programs, she sources and evaluates solutions that align with client profiles and can withstand market shocks. Her knowledge-based decisions, technical acumen, and thorough approach reassure her clients. She values education and shares her insights with clients by creating content to clarify complex concepts and their implications. Tanya often presents to fellow colleagues, investment boards and at industry conferences.
Currently, Tanya is senior investment strategist with Bessemer Trust. She conducts macroeconomic research and financial market analysis that informs asset allocation investment recommendations to clients. Prior to Bessemer, Tanya served as managing director, head of manager/strategy research with Fieldpoint Private Bank & Trust. During her tenure, she held the position of interim chief investment officer and chaired the company’s investment committee. She began her career at Brinson Partners where she developed a strong foundation in global capital markets. She also held investment positions at Calvert, EARNEST Partners, Guggenheim Partners, and NexTier Consulting Solutions.
Tanya earned her MBA from Duke University/Fuqua School of Business and her BA in Economics from Northwestern University. Tanya is a CFA Charter holder and an active member of CFA Institute and CFA Society Chicago, where she has served as secretary/treasurer of the board of directors, chair of the audit committee, and member of the budget committee. When she’s not volunteering with Big Shoulders, a Chicago-based non-profit that supports inner-city schools, Tanya can be found cycling along Lake Michigan.
