The Darkness

Film adaptation of the solo show Goddess Black, written and performed by Nick Gillie, and Directed and produced by Hashim Williams

“The Darkness” is a story of a sacred afterlife. This infinite, female, mystery - The Darkness - gave birth to all life, including the very first light. In this film three characters return “home” and see themselves surrounded by eternal beings appearing as Black women and girls. The men slowly unpack their lives and discover that events in the “light” world of materiality distracted them from the purpose for which their souls were incarnated here on earth. Two characters thought themselves victorious in life but they discover they were not. One character thought himself wretched and degraded in life but now realizes that he was one of The We who changed all life on earth.
