Background

George Wylie Henderson was Kellie Davis’ grandfather, a little known Harlem Renaissance writer who wrote two novels: Ollie Miss and Jule; he also wrote several short stories for magazines. 

2010 the Robey Theatre Company, located in Los Angeles, CA, produced Kellie’s play Transitions: A Trilogy of One-Act Plays, which received five NAACP Theatre Nominations, winning the NAACP Theatre Award for Best Playwright Local and Best Ensemble, Transitions was later performed at the 2011 National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, NC. 

As an award winning producer, Kellie co-produced Between shifts, a short film that won the 2017 Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema Best Ensemble Short Film Award and The Mary Austin Award for Excellence in Screenwriting.  That same year Kellie also won First Place in the Education Category at the W.A.V.E Awards for a segment she co-produced at KOCT Television Station for CSUSM’s Environmental Leadership Academy.

In 2020, Kellie ran as an Independent Candidate for the Oceanside City Council District #3 seat.  Although she did not win, her vision for City Council was a non-partisan, independent body, dedicated to serving the greater community, and the desire to give voice to the communities that have been historically underrepresented in government.

Kellie O. Davis is the Founder and Owner of MEconceptions, a specialized, boutique consulting firm that develops projects for Internet programming, performance art, and community outreach.
