CYDNEY WAYNE DAVIS is a professional singer, songwriter, music and vocal producer, vocal coach, actress, playwright and director. Cydney got her start in the music business singing background for Marvin Gaye and then the doors opened up for her to sing backup for artists such as Ray Charles, Barry White, Joe Cocker, Bette Midler, Donna Summer, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. and Stevie Wonder.

As a songwriter her music can be heard in films as well as stage plays including “Meet Me at the Dunbar” for The Robey Theatre Company. Cydney’s biggest success as a songwriter is a song she co-wrote entitled “You’re Gonna Love It’’ which was recorded by the legendary Diana Ross. Cydney’s range as an actress spans both stage and screen. In 2013 she won The NAACP Theatre Award for “Best Supporting Actress” for her role as “Theresa” in Robey Theatre’s “Anna Lucasta”. She also appears as the sassy church lady “Sister Beatrice” in Jean Claude Lamarr’s film “Chocolate City”. Cydney’s original stage plays United Front and Dirty Blues at the Downbeat were featured at both the NAACP Theatre Festival and The Paul Robeson Theatre Festival in which Cydney was a triple threat as Playwright, Director and Lead Actress. Currently Cydney is in the recording studio producing her first solo project with her newest single coming out in May 2020 entitled HOT MAMA as well as producing a live stage show about her life entitled JOURNEY TO CENTER STAGE featuring her original song “The Star Behind the Stars”. Cydney is excited to be a part of Goddess Black. “I believe it’s time for women both young and old to stand up and be counted. To live our dreams, speak our truth, dance our dance, sing our songs and tell our stories.”
