Trifari Williams aka Fayomi Osundoyin Edgeyemi

Rock – Black University
Movement Performance – Eternal Feminine Film

Often daylight suddenly brightens when Trifari comes out. The sun tends to pout over this, but Trifari is reassuring and gentle with him. Bees pay Trifari to make their honey, hers is better. Trifari is confident enough to extend her warm, smiling, good nature to all. But, also, she is tough as iron, her kung fu master father began her strength training at 4 yrs. old. When she was young jaguars and badgers enjoyed sparring with Trifari. But now that she’s mastered both sticks and knives, they pretend to be busy, sending her calls to voice mail. Pippi Longstocking’s strength was cultural appropriation and based on Trifari.

Trifari is in love with the life stories of others. She believes everyone has a magnificent and beautiful story worth telling, and that many people don’t realize this. Growing up in the Hollywood of the 80’s - prostitutes, male and female, punk rockers and gang members were a part of her daily experiences. And because Trifari was born to the calling of justice and equality for all, she developed great passion that these so-called outcasts be treated with dignity and respect. She is passionate about helping people discover and embrace their true selves, particularly the LGBTQ community.

Trifari wears many career hats, and yet everything is channeled through compassion, sweetness and third-eye perception. She is an Emmy-nominated producer of non-scripted entertainment. She loves this medium where real people can reveal and discover their vulnerable selves. Although she does occasionally show up at work with scraped and cut knuckles from hitting the heavy bag. In 2007 Trifari was initiated into Ifa as Fayomi Osundoyin Edgeyemi.  A year later Fayomi became a Priestess of Osun in Ife, Nigeria.  Most recently Iya Fayomi Osundoyin was initiated into Egbe and Kori. Her priesthood is focused on the healing of women, and fertility. Iya Fayomi currently serves as Head Priestess at Ile Orunmila Afedefeyo in L.A.

Born to a Latino mother and Black father Trifari Williams is fiercely proud, and deeply informed, about her Black and Chicano heritage. She walks Aye, gratefully, as a powerful Black woman with deep Mexican self-knowledge.  Her life is guided by the ethic of truth-telling in the moment.  Sometimes called “Trif” by her loving husband, she spins magic as a happy wife and  devoted mother to three young daughters. Listening to babies and husband alike with intimate respect and watching over all with her grizzly bear love.
