Anne Kenney is a television writer/executive producer and playwright. She’s just finished writing/executive producing the third season of STARZ “American Gods – where she had the pleasure of meeting and working with Nick Gillie.
Before that, she wrote and executive produced the first three seasons of STARZ’ series, “Outlander,” where she wrote the acclaimed “Wedding Episode,” among many others.
Currently, she’s writing a series adaptation of Mary McCoy’s YA novel, “I, Claudia” for MGM/Orion, and recently finished writing the pilot for “Rebels,” a limited series historical drama based on the Stella-Award-winning book “The Forgotten Rebels of Eureka” by Dr. Clare Wright for Ruby Entertainment, a Melbourne-based production company.
Her play, “Last Call” had its world premiere in 2019 at the Open Fist Theater Company here in Los Angeles.
Anne graduated from Ohio University with a degree in journalism. After working at several newspapers on the east coast, Anne moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television. Her other credits include: “LA Law,” “ER,” “Family Law” (co-created by), “Greek” “Hellcats” and “Switched at Birth.”
She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, also a television writer-producer. She’s delighted and humbled to be involved with Black University, where she considers herself as much a student as an advisor.
